Group Process Facilitation Training at the Alchemy Institute

 

For those who want a complete training in group process work, our Institute offers a group process facilitation training that is extremely thorough in preparing you to lead groups from marketing, to enrollment, to process, to follow up.  It is available to any mentally and physically healthy adult  and does not require years of academic education or an advanced degree. It does require a lot of emotional maturity…and willingness to explore your own depths as a group participant and leader. Nearly all of the training can be completed on weekends, in 2-3 years of part time involvement.  Here are the basic requirements:

Attend the 200 hour hypnotherapy basic training.  This course can be completed as a one month residential or as a series of 11 weekends over 4-6 months.  This course will certify you as a “hypnotherapist” and prepare you for a career in this field, or you can see it, like Brigitta D’Amato did, as an important step toward her career as a group therapist. The literally hundreds of techniques you will learn will be as essential in the cauldron of group work as they are in individual hypnotherapy sessions.  Of the advanced courses needed for completion, three are required for the specialty in group process

              402:   Somatic Healing (it is essential to learn to deal with pain and illness, since it pops up in groups all the time)

              417:   Magic Theatre   This is my 2 day course in group process facilitation that covers every element of group work from weekly support groups to wilderness adventures

              418:   Seminar Leadership  This covers how to be an effective presenter, as well as giving you a turn key system for leading workshops on everything from weight loss to past life regression.

Not all of these classes are held every year.  See our course descriptions and calendar for more details. The total cost for these programs runs about $3600.00.   Payment options are available.  Paying as you go per weekend is possible, as are student loans.

In addition, each participant is required to attend at least two Empowerment Intensives with me, and one with my colleagues George and Brigitta D’Amato, who are highly skilled empowerment leaders, who work quite differently from me, but within the same tradition, or a New Warrior initiation. 

After that you will become an “Empowerment Apprentice” assisting me in promoting, organizing, and leading group process weekends under my close supervision, perhaps in your area.  This program costs you nothing in cash, (in fact you may make money sponsoring these workshops) but involves a commitment of several weekends per year.  How long does this take before you are doing your own groups successfully?  I don’t know.  But you will know when you are done the same way Brigitta knew…when people started lining up for a weekend with her, she just did it.  I received rave reviews about their leadership. Her Certificate in group process was issued by me pronto,  and now she and George have had a brand new career for the last 6 years as Empowerment leaders.  (Besides the classes listed above, neither George nor Brigitta had any background in therapy or group process facilitation)

If you have previous training in hypnotherapy or group process this can count toward your training requirements with the Alchemy Institute.
